Dutch Silver Brazier, Middelburg, Johannes d’Hoy 1768.




A Dutch silver brazier. City of Middelburg by Johannes d’Hoy 18th Century.

Pierced and cut out decorations, hand formed and with cast silver elements in the Louis XV style.

Copper liner.

The stand has been perfectly hallmarked.

Coat of arms of the city of Middelburg.
Date letter E for 1768
Makers mark ID for Johannes D’Hoy.
Letter mark V.

The brazier is 16,5 cm wide and 8.5 cm wide.

Total weight is 252 Grams.

Overall in a good but used condition, the brazier does have an old repair on the cut out decorations – a piece of silver has been soldered on to it.
